Seeing is Believing

Man, I have discovered I have this pet peeve where it REALLY pisses me off to dismiss something just because you've never heard of it.

Haven't heard of a musician?  Well, they can't be that good.

Haven't heard of a movie?  It must be terrible!

Haven't heard of a tv show?  How good can it be!!

I noticed this when, during a trailer the line, "From the makers of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy!" came up, and my mom's reaction was, "Meh, never heard of it."

There is a world of different over just dismissing something as garbage because you've never heard of something, which is doubly hilarious to me because of HOW long that story has been around, and done in multiple adaptations!

But there's a world of difference between "Meh" and "Oh, hey, I've never heard of that!"

...A difference that translates terribly to text, but we all know what I mean. ;D
