"Musty carnies, drunk by 10AM!"
Movie - "Tonight, on Generic TV Movie!" That pretty much sums it up, yeah.
A made for tv movie that was a failed pilot, about a spy chasing another spy to stop him from stealing a weapon. It honestly works better, for some definition of 'better' as a movie than as setup. I really don't know where this would have gone forward from here, other than 'more spy stuff'. But then, ongoing stories, even loose ones, weren't a big deal in the 1970s.
"Oliver Twist had more Hawaiian locations than this movie." Oh yes, and it's supposed to be in Hawaii. Much like Mike and the Bots, I remain dubious of these claims.
And about a third of the way through, it hit me and I shouted out, "Holy shit, that REALLY IS Ian McShane!!" I thought it was just their typical jokes for awhile, and then...
The cheesiness of this being a tv movie, as usually happens, gives them plenty to work worth. Cheap locations, low budget actors, and the incoherent plot of a series made movie story. Yeah, this was made for MST3K.
