MST3K Rewatch Week 90 - King Dinosaur

Woohoo, they found a good movie, King Ko...Wait.  King Dinosaur?!  Awww man.

Short - X Marks the Spot - "Great.  We're stranded in space and STILL have to serve jury duty."

This is another short about driving!  I dunno why, but I have such a weird soft spot for these things.

Movie - So much stock footage and process shots!  Two couples get blasted to a planet, they go exploring, and uh...

NOTHING happens in this movie!  Seriously, there is no exaggeration there.  They land, they wander, and they look at stuff, they leave.  Sure, plenty of things HAPPEN, but it has nothing to do with anything, and it's all in stock footage shots.  And it consists of an endless stream of, "Hey!  Look over there!  We are completely in the same location, even though we are never seen with the giant creatures!"

This movie was just painful to watch.

"I believe you mean you saw a CLIP of a lake."

Joey the lemur! =D  That was a silly highlight, at least.  I have a puppet like that.  And the in-movie Joey was also a moment of brightness in the never ending bleakness.  I thought the movie was going to forget about him as the cast rushed to avoid the nuke they set to go off, and essentially end up nuking the cute animal. =(

King Dinosaur is more like king gila monster.  But that was a different movie.  This was an okay episode, but there's only so many jokes you can make about stock footage and lizards.  And they even reused a few.  The stretched jokes knock the episode down a bit.  But, they make the best of it, I guess.
