MST3K Rewatch Week 89 - The Brute Man

Short - The Chicken of Tomorrow - Ahh, another informative and fun look at raising chickens...and then the oil industry says hello.

"I'd like to be the chicken of tomorrow, but how can I be more the man of today??"

The Brute Man - Such a darkly filmed movie...  And sadly, the filmography and lighting is the least of its problems.

The story is straightforward enough.  A guy known in the news as The Creeper is going around killing people.  Turns out he was a hotshot college football star that was disfigured and now seeking revenge for no apparent reason.  Well, we know WHY.  It's more the why NOW, for me.  But yeah, that's pretty much the story, with an added romance subplot with a blind girl so she doesn't see his hideous face.

On the upside, Rondo Hatton?  Seriously underrated.

Some of the best jokes are the unending stream of grumpy shopkeeper riffs. XD

"That was a long, dull scene!  Congratulations!"  Yeah, that's half the movie.

Another good bit of running jokes is aaalll those cigarette smoking riffs thanks to the padding!

"This would've gone a lot quicker if he were named the Jaguar, or the Cheetah!"

A seriously flawed movie with an uninspired story.  That gives them some great material usually, and Brute Man does not disappoint.  I am glad they shied *mostly* away from jokes about Rondo's appearance.  They got a few in, and that's fine.  I'm just glad it didn't become a 'thing' to make fun of the ugly guy.
