MST3K Rewatch Week 85 - Gamera vs. Zigra

Oh, this.  This was one of the first episodes I ever saw, so I have a special place for it in my mind.  It's also the last of the Gamera movies.

Another one with a fair amount of Gamera sprinkled throughout, but again, they know how to space it out and keep him sidelined until the final battle.  Still, a moment of, "How come daddy didn't do that 20 years ago?!" at the conclusion...

This time around, we are being attacked by Zigra, who is pissed off that our "Earth science" has been polluting the waters of their world.  He comes to Earth for revenge, kidnaps some kids accidentally, and then gets his ass handed to him by Gamera.  As you do.

Oh, and the plot randomly wanders off to a five or so minute scene about whether or not fish will be purchased or not.  Talk about padding.

"It's weird, but even the monster is badly dubbed..."

How the fudge did we pollute the waters of a planet 400 light years away before we even polluted our own?!

So, the monster is Zigra, from the planet Zigra, in the star system Zigra...?  What the hell are they, the space Smurfs?!
