MST3K Rewatch Week 58 - The Girl in Lover's Lane

"That smacks of Tolkeinism!"

Ahh, another movie that's just a drama about some random guys getting into trouble.  This time out, it's a pair of drifters that breeze into town, lay low, start building a life, and have it squashed in front of them.

You can really tell the guys are reaching for jokes in this one.  There are a LOT of running gags, like they don't know what to do with themselves or this bland movie.  The mocking names for some characters are used more than usual, they mention how money was worth a lot more back then at LEAST five times...  The result is still, IMO, funny, but you can tell this was tough for them.

Apparently, this episode is divisive amongst the MST3K community, and I can see why.  Not a lot to write home about, at the end of the day.
