Phoenix

Power to the People.

Fun times in #Comicbooks.

southerndave and I are sitting around and having an in-depth, serious discussion of the history and symbology used on power switches.  It's something I've always pondered on, but never got around to reading up on.

Then while discussing the combined 0/1 symbols on a lot of computers and increasingly on all kinds of consumer electronics, I finally looked it up on Wikipedia, and was only mildly surprised to find an article on it.  Not so much that it was there, this IS Wiki after all, but that there was actually documentation and standards for it going back to the 1970s.

Now I'm sitting here trying to think of the oldest device I've seen that had the 0/1 rather than on/off or power.

And discussions like this are why I *love* chat.  And wish more people came by more regularly.
