The people who've been hounding us on Vote4Cause have come up with a new conspiracy theory.

They realised that the owner of the site gets a miniscule amount of money for the ads being served, like a penny per view, or something. Now, this is true, and with all the page views, that's a nice chunk o' change.

One might assume that he's raking in the money, but they're forgetting one other little factor. The cost of hosting and bandwidth, and I bet the site goes through a LOOOOT of bandwidth, and that would not be a small amount of money there.

He's also handing money over to charities as well.

I'm sure he's getting cash, but I'm also sure he's not exactly rolling in it, what with the OPERATING costs of the site. Operating costs always seem to be things people forget...

Of course, I may be wrong, and he may be laughing his way to the bank.

Hmm, aren't a lot of those ads only paying out if the viewer clicks THROUGH?

Eh, I'm not too worried, and think they're being silly, and think we're being scammed. Of *course* he's getting money from the ads.

So, I was just asked, and I don't have the answer, byt I must know.

And for a change, Google isn't helping. Gave me a few clues, but nothing definite.

Can anyone positively identify where the quote, "What are going to do, spoon me to death?" comes from?

Go, my Birds of Grey!
