Sling Thing

So, it's pretty damned clear that I'm a Stephen King fan.  I should take some photos of all the hardcovers someday.  But I digress.

I am reading Marvel's Dark Tower comics, as is also probably no surprise.  I dropped the Stand comics, despite that being my favourite book of all time, because they really were just straight up adaptations of the novel.  REALLY GOOD adaptations, but I couldn't be bothered.

The Dark Tower books at least were telling, to the best of my reckoning, new stories that were filling in the gaps of Roland's earlier days, even though they to had a brief dalliance with adapting the story he told to his Ka of the days in Hambry with Susan Delgado.

But lately, they've gone full on adaptation route.  They ARE doing some additions though, and fleshing things out more, but the more I read, the less interested I get...

Except when I *do* read, I put the issue aside and DAMN it was good, and hits all the right buttons the books did, and I want to stick around...and in a few days, I'll be back to thinking of dropping them because they're just rehashing the books now, but then I'll read the next issue and...

AUGH!  @.@
