Idle Musings

I wonder...

I spend some time on another network, and tonight I met one of the Admins. Nice group, but that's neither here nor there.

They found out I have a channel, and were in horror over it being on DAL. Frankly, I've not been happy with DAL myself lately, what with the splits, dying servers, etc...

It got me to wondering how well a change of networks would go over amongst the community, to somewhere apparently far more stable, and admins down amongst the people.

So, it goes to my journal, to see what the response is =)

Not saying either way if it will ever happen, just...curious.

A Quote

Something I liked, and was just reminded of. By JMS, from B5.

"There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness
of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against
powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater
than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams.
Against this peril we can never surrender."

What the Heck...

Another quote from B5. This is something we should all remember. For those lost here, and those we go after for those acts.

Episode 516: "All My Dreams Torn Assunder"

Sheridan: What does the candle represent?

Delenn: Life.

Sheridan: Who's life?

Delenn: All life. Every life. We are born as molecules in the hearts of a
billion stars. Molecules that do not understand politics an policy and
difference. Over a billion years we foolish molecules forget who we are and
where we came from. In desperate acts of ego, we give ourselves names, fight
over lines on maps and pretend that our light is better than everyone elses.
The flame reminds us of the piece of those stars that lives on inside us. The
spark that tells us "you should know better." The flame also reminds us that
life is precious. That each flame is unique. When it goes out, it's be gone
forever. And there will never be another quite like it.
