Let's Talk Comicbooks: Fear Itself #1

Hey, remember these?

I've missed doing them, and really slacked off this year, but aside from Event, nothing quite matched the taklability of Lost.

But there's always comics.  I'm not gonna get into spoilers, so will skip a cut.

I actually really liked this.  A good start, good setup, the characters feel right, and I am very intrigued to see where this book goes.  This was, to me, the best start to an event crossover Marvel has done in years.  I now await the almost inevitable letdown. ;)

The rioting and angry people was maybe a BIT heavy handed, but it's an understandable thing to work into comics, with the way things are these days.  But they do seem to be a bit like straw men.  Especially the opening riot with Steve and Sharon.  That literally came out of nowhere, and seemed pretty forced.

But aside from those issues, yeah, pretty solid, and I'm looking forward to the Worthy and where this is gonna go.
