Black River: The Dead of Winter - Day 10

So, remember how yesterday I posted a completed chapter three?

Yeah, forget that.  I'm still working on it.  Again, had a rough time sleeping, and I realised the chapter was STILL bugging me.  And again it came to me.  As much as book 2 is Kelly's story, she still isn't THE main character.  I needed to get back to the Montroses and the uh, you know...the main plot.  The instant I got back to the twins and Brendan, and even had some plot developments moving forward, everything felt so much more right again.

Which isn't to diminish Kelly's plot.  It is absolutely essential to this story, and the overall Black River saga.  It had just become TOO much of the focus.  Adding in more with the other characters really served to balance it out, and the chapter feels tons better now.  I'd fallen a bit into my trap I did with Visions of a Parallel World a few years ago.  I was writing good stuff, but straying ever further from the plot.  Visions wandered so far off the path it got eaten in the woods by shamblers.  BR2 found a back road and returned to the city.

The irony of both stories being set in Kraftsbury is not lost on me.
