It's actually a hand me down, from John's collection. His widow isn't into the slashers, so was more than happy to give me this memento of him. Funnily enough, I borrowed this set from him shortly after he got it, and the damned thing sat in a corner for like...a year, if not longer. I think I watched the first movie, and just never found the time for the rest. It almost feels like the thing has come home.
So yeah, I'm planning to interupt my regularly scheduled post-dinner DVD viewing (Currently Heroes s3) and pop in the original Nightmare on Elm Street before going to catch the remake/reboot/redo tomorrow afternoon. I don't want to compare the two, but I do want to have the original fresh in my mind.
I've heard iffy things about the remake, but I'm still looking forward to it.
