Let's Talk About Television: Lost 5x13 - Some Like it Hoth

Man, I like punny titles, and that one makes me cringe. It's a loooong way to go for a cheap joke that doesn't have a whole lot to do with the episode. Funny scene with Hurley, and something he'd do, but still...

Finally a look at Miles. You gotta feel sorry for the guy. And oh look, he has daddy issues. ;) Must be Lost!

What a way to discover his abilities. Eek. Child Miles reminded me tons of Walt when we first saw him. Miles is quite a fascinating conflicted character. It's been done better with others, but his constant wavering between scam artist and doing the right thing is just an interesting facet to play.

My brain had been pondering if Chang was Mile's father for awhile now, and I love how they revealed it. Really makes Miles more of an important piece to the puzzle.

My favourite moment was describing how Alvarez died. The moment they did, as I'm sure any other fan did, had a squee moment knowing they were talking about what would one day be the Swan.

Speaking of the Swan, I loved seeing the birth of the station, and Hurley being there the moment they stamped the serial number onto the hatch. Something about such a small moment just felt so epic, and tied so many other moments together from the series. Just loved it.

And YAY Faraday. Keeping him off the field for awhile really made me miss him, and so look forward to what he's been up to the past three years.

The plot feels a liiittle stalled as the islanders are all waiting for something to happen, waiting for whatever they're supposed to do, and we're stuck waiting too. They're giving us enough cool backstory and interesting things to keep things going, but overall, things seem stalled.

But with next episode (In two weeks?! NOOO) being episode 100, and it looks like there are booms, maybe this is just the calm before the storm.

Bring in your raingear!
