Fight for What's Wrong

Dear scifi/genre writers,

Why do you insist on writing 'fight club' episodes?  Has there ever been a good one?

Just this week I rewatched Angel's "The Ring" while treadmilling.  Just now I watched Sanctuary's take on it.  Torchwood's is still fresh in my mind and we all know how that turned out.  I'd even throw in BSG's boxing fest from a few years, but only one season, ago.  And I know I'm missing a few.

I never want to see another one of these episodes.  I get it.  Fighting is bad, thinking is good.  I wonder if scifi writers were bullied in school a lot, and now use their typewriters and word processors to espouse to the masses just how wrong fighting is, and how much better, people are if they don't fight.
