I've been thinking a lot lately about Stephen Colbert.

I do not watch his show. I watch the Daily Show, or as my mom calls it "John Daily".

I *do* find Stephen to be funny. I enjoy the tosses with John, and I catch the tease before the screeching eagle, which usually gives me a laugh too.

But I find his CHARACTER to be grating on my nerves.

He's got good writers, he's funny, but I can only stand the Colbert Report character so much. I get the joke. Watching it for thirty minutes four days a week is just too much for me. I wish he'd just be himself more often than not. Too much of the show feels like a wink and a nod of him saying things he doesn't really mean.

It's like watching Bizarro!
