Dust Buffalos

Yesterday, finally cracked open my PC to clean out, oh 18 months worth of dust.

I was gonna do it in October or so, but decided I'd be good for the winter, and would clean it out just as the summer was gearing up. Go into the hottest part of the year, with the cleanest computer.

So of course it kicks off with Sunday and Monday being the hottest days in like a year. ;) Ahhh, the jet engine returned.

I planned to do it on Tuesday, after my monthly Windows patches, since I'd have to reboot anyways. Shut down, clean out, etc. Gotta love the timing of those hot days hitting right when they did. Couldn't wait...

All in all, it wasn't as bad as I'd been expecting after that length of time, although I'm still sneezing out grey clouds. *hack* I could still get even cleaner probably, but I'd rather not dismantle the machine that's so well put together. I can wiggle around and clear out the worst dusty offenders.

Fired her back up, and yay, ten degrees lower. Pesky blanket of dust.

And I'm actually a little weirded out at how quiet it is again. I keep checking if it's on! Could still probably stand to clear out the video card's fan better, but that's a pain to get in there. I'd have to seriously deconstruct the thing to get to it inside the plastic case. I should invest in compressed air cans, I know...

We're good for another year!
