Paying the Bills Theatre: Gravedancers.

This week's option doesn't look too horrible. Anything is a step up from giant sized creature of the week. This time out we've got Dominic Purcell looking to pay his water bill between seasons of Prison Break, Clare Kramer trying to pay rent post Buffy, and Josie Maran needing a few bucks before Dancing With the Stars.

I'm not entirely clear on the plot yet, so let us check out IMDB, "After a night of drunken exploits, Allison, Harris, and Kira are chasedand terrorized by the ghosts of a child pyromaniac, an ax murderer, anda rapist."

This sounds like fun.

I'm not sure if it's the station, the satellite, or the movie, but this film, so far, is very washed out. Everything seems so grey. I'm usually all about the Grey, but this is a bit much!

Who seriously suggests hanging out in a cemetary to friends? Aside from myself and my friends...

Horror movie lesson #8873: When you find a strange poem in a cemetary, DO NOT READ IT ALOUD!

And damnit, I'd be crawling outta my grave too just to stop the bad dancing and music!

Ok, I'm half an hour or so in so far, and nothing has really happened. I'm all for building suspense and characters, but c'mon, movie, do something!

Something more than the piano playing when no one is there to play it...

The biggest thing I hate about movies being played on commercial tv is where some people decide to shove the commercials. It often makes for the lamest act breaks. Such as "How's the alarm coming?" "It's finished." *fade to black* NOOO, the alarm is finished!! D=

Ahhh, finally. A ghost.

Wow, Josie Maran's already out of the flick, quick paycheck. =) Oops, my mistake, just hospitalised, not dead.

"We've been here ten hours, and the scariest thing we've seen is your bathroom" Ok, that's a great, great line.

"You danced on graves?!" Frankly, I'd be more shocked at that being just goofy than anything that might raise the dead...

The little poem is called the "Gravedancer's Lament". Yeah, I am lamenting watching Gravedancers right now, lemme tell you.

Decent little twist that the rituals to get rid of the evil spirits failed miserably. Which then gets taken away by it not being a twist, because some bones remained. Bah.

Ok makeup. Looks like the same guy who did the Marvel Zombies at DragonCon. ;)

Meh.

Nothing bad to say about the film, really, but nothing good either. "Banal" is going to become a very frequent word for these things, but especially here. The acting is decent enough from the Names, but it's all just been so done before, and it's just there. It's not even bad enough to make fun of.

Two out of five ghost hunters. Not for being bad, but for not being bad enough to be fun, or good enough to be worth it.
