Doctor Who bosses are apparently bringing back his biggest enemy, the Master, to the hit BBC show.
In a major twist in the third series, which starts in the spring, fans will see the renegade Timelord in action.
Currently the favourite to play the role is Life on Mars star John Simm. A show insider told The Sun: "He's brilliant and we would love to get him on board."
A would-be universal conqueror, the Master's stated goal is to control the universe, with a secondary objective of eliminating the Doctor.
His most distinctive ability is that of hypnotising people by fixing them with an intense stare, often accompanied by his catchphrase, "I am the Master, and you will obey me."
The 36-year-old would be the seventh actor to play the evil character. Previous names include Roger Delgado, Geoffrey Beevers, Anthony Ainley and Eric Roberts.
